OUR STORY

WHY BOXING?

We have help hundreds of people of all ages with our evidence based programme that shows how boxing at Fight2Thrive is more than a sport—it’s a powerful way for people to understand and manage their emotions, whether they're dealing with anxiety, trauma, ADHD, or sensory challenges.

  • Boxing involves movements like pushing and pulling, which help burn off energy and improve focus, making behaviour easier to manage.

  • Physical activity releases endorphins, boosting mood and reducing pressures of life, helping people feel more positive and confident.

  • Boxing teaches self-discipline and emotional regulation, giving a safe outlet for frustration or excitement, while positive conversations support mental fitness.

  • At Fight2Thrive, we create a space where people feel supported, empowered, and ready to grow—physically and emotionally.

"In life, we all encounter obstacles and high-pressure situations, and it's how we confront them that defines our journey. As both a youth worker and a professional boxer, with experiences training alongside elite fighters like Carl Frampton and Tyson Fury and a collection of achievements, including a Commonwealth silver medal and a WBO European championship, I've gained more than just athletic accolades. I've cultivated skills that empower me to assist individuals in navigating life's challenges, including stress, anxiety, and emotional struggles.

From boxing, I've learned the importance of resilience, the value of mental fortitude, and the art of managing emotions constructively. As a youth worker, I've seamlessly integrated these lessons into my role, using the physical exertion of boxing as a catalyst for meaningful conversations on life's trials, making such discussions more accessible and productive.

My track record in boxing and my experiences as a mentor equip me to excel under pressure and guide others to build the confidence to confront their own hurdles. I'm not just a coach; I'm someone who's lived through it, and I'm here to help others discover their strength when facing life's most challenging moments."
